Great food. Great service. Close to Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre hotel. US$100 for pork belly for 3 people was so reasonable. Plus free Haagen Daz ice cream for dessert!!! Delicious!
We went to this KBBQ spot with some local friends and it did not disappoint. The inside definitely reminded me of my favorite KBBQ spots in South Korea, but much cleaner. I loved the decor and the atmosphere. They actually manage to fit quite a few tables into the small space. Be aware that there are 2 Obba restaurants just a short distance apart. They are part of the same restaurant, but have different focuses. This location we went to focuses on KBBQ while the other focuses on other Korean specialties such as noodles and seafood. We got a set menu of pork and beef for the 4 of us with some additional side dishes like the steamed egg and kimchi pancake. The food was delicious and on par with most of the KBBQ places I had in Korea. Our server actually grilled our meat for us, which was a nice plus. But I think if you're experienced enough you might be able just do it yourself. Would definitely come back.
The one KBBQ place I wanted to try while we were in Singapore - heard raving reviews about this place! We came for dinner on a weekday and got really lucky 'cause a table just opened up. It's actually quite small inside. We ordered prime beef, marinated beef short ribs, marinated pork, and seafood pancake. it's quite pricey for the amount of meat you get but it was delicious! they cook the meats for you and my husband was so fascinated that we didn't come out of dinner smelling like BBQ lol the seafood pancake was just okay, not my favorite it was a bit chewier than expected. overall, high quality cut meats and great service! would recommend if you're in Singapore!
This place had a solid line at dinner but I managed to be seated right away at lunch. They have great lunch sets that are very decently priced and can easily feed 2-3 people! I ordered lunch set b which consisted on jjajjangmyeon, jjampong and fried chicken. All of the dishes were decent and everything was fresh. We also ordered the bibimbap, pork bone stew and two types of barbecue: marinated kalbi and pork jowl. The pork bone stew was just alright, I've had better. The barbecue was a really good deal because the portions were enormous for the price! I liked the marinated kalbi and they cook everything for you on the table top grill so you won't need to worry about over cooking your meats. The suction is really powerful and I didn't smell like barbecue for the rest of the day which was really nice. I would come back for a casual meal with friends anytime!
